Question 11: Why do you only confess your sins to God instead of to a priest?

Answer: Quite simple, I Timothy 2:5 tells us the following: “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;” This verse is very clear. It tells us that the only mediator there is between God and man is Christ Jesus. We are not to go to a priest (or any other dead man (saints, etc.)) to confess our sins but to God alone through Jesus Christ.
