Question 18: Where do you get the information for the sermons you preach?

Answer: Quite simply, a preacher will pray and seek the Lord’s direction for the sermons that he preaches.  God calls a pastor to be the under-shepherd for the local church.  God then works through that man to reveal His vision for that local body of believers.  For the pastor who diligently searches God’s Word, he will be given the messages that he needs to preach in order to edify, exhort, and instruct the people.  When a pastor gets in his pulpit to preach, he will make sure that he has prayed for the Lord’s wisdom, direction, and power.  If his preaching is not directed by the power of the Holy Spirit, it will not be effective.
