Question 28: Why do you believe that homosexuals live the lives that they live?

Answer: I believe the simplest answer is the depraved sin nature of man. Jeremiah 17:9 tells us “The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?” Homosexuality was a common practice among the heathen nations that occupied Canaan land. Over and over again, the Israelites continued to disobey God and embraced the false gods, religions, and customs of the people they were supposed to defeat. In doing so, they turned their back on God to follow their own sinful, lustful desires – including homosexuality. And man still does this today. Because of this sin and rebellion against God, Romans 1:24 tells us that “Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: ²⁵Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. ²⁶For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: ²⁷And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.” God’s judgment and punishment for refusing to follow Him is something we see very clearly today – “God giving them up to their uncleanness” – allowing man to make his own wretched decisions to lust after someone of the same sex. However, the Bible says in Proverbs 14:12 “There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” As long as man (including the homosexual man) refuses to confess and repent of their sin and accept Jesus Christ’s free gift of eternal life, there “right way” will lead to an eternal death!
