Question 36: Do you believe there is only one correct Bible?

Answer:  Yes, see #34 (for English speaking people).  Bibles for non-English speaking people should be translated from the same underlying Hebrew and Greek texts that were used by the translators of the King James Bible.  Modern translations are the “in-Bibles” in most Christian circles today in this country.  However, a close study of them shows that they utilize totally different underlying Hebrew and Greek texts than that of the King James Bible.  The volume of differences are astounding, exceeding over 25,000 words.  There are so many English Bible versions available today (over 100 at last count) that are all different – yet so many still say that they are “essentially all the same.”  Many of the changes and eliminations of the modern versions, whether by design or happenstance, diminish the Deity of Jesus Christ.  Anything that diminishes the Deity of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ should be avoided.  Finally, the scholars involved in translating these new versions will not tell you that the Bible is inherent and infallible – but they will tell you that it used to be (in the originals which no longer exist).  To take this position is to essentially call God a liar!  He said in Matthew 24:35 that “my words shall not pass away” and in Isaiah 59:21my words which I have put in thy mouth, shall not depart out of thy mouth, nor out of the mouth of thy seed, nor out of the mouth of thy seed’s seed, saith the LORD, from henceforth and for everand in Psalm 12:7Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.”  God was not lying to us here!  He is capable of preserving His Word just like He said He would do – and He has done it for us English speaking people through the King James 1611 Bible.
