Question
9: Why do you believe that Christ died for all sins: past, present, and future?
Answer: The answer to this
question is that we believe what the Bible has to say about this issue -
according to the witness of the Apostles John, Paul, Peter, and John the
Baptist. The following verses address
this question and provide the answer:
- John 1:29 The
next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of
God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
- I Corinthians 15:22 For as in Adam all die,
even so in Christ shall all be made alive.
- Romans 6:23 For the wages of sin is
death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- II Corinthians 5:21 For
he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made
the righteousness of God in him.
- Romans 5:18-19 Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came
upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free
gift came upon all men unto justification of life. 19For as by
one mans disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one
shall many be made righteous.
- I Peter 3:18 For
Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he
might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by
the Spirit:
I
Peter 2:24 Who
his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that
we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye
were healed.
