The music ministry of Columbia Road Baptist Church has the opportunity to proclaim the Word of God in a unique way. Through music, we can direct our hearts and minds into a symphony of praise. This is never more important than the preaching of God’s Word. But at its best, music is a vital part of the worship service.

The three main purposes of the CRBC Music Ministry are as follows:
1. To uplift the name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
2. To share Scriptural truths and testimonies through hymns, choruses, and special music.
3. To prepare the hearts of the congregation to hear the preaching of the Word of God.

Areas Of Service
1. Musicians (pianists/organists)
2. Choir
3. Special music (vocal and instrumental)

Guidelines

1. Musicians
a. Must be a member of CRBC.
b. Be willing to practice and be ready to play weekly.

2. Choir
a. Must be a member of CRBC.
b. Be at least in 7th grade.
c. Commit to be faithful to all rehearsals and worship services unless providentially hindered.
d. Audition for the choir director and/or music director.

3. Special Music
a. Must be a member of CRBC.
b. Must be a member of the CRBC choir. (vocalists only)
c. If the person has never sung/played a special at CRBC before, they must first be heard by the music director prior to being added to the special music rotation.
d. The song must be approved by the music director (or, in his absence, the pastor) before being sung in church. Once a song is approved, it is considered approved from then on.
